Perhaps you are going through a period of change. A relationship is making you question things. You are struggling with anxiety or overwhelm. You are repeating patterns that you do not understand. Or you have simply reached a point where the way you have been coping is not working as well as it used to.
You may be someone who is very used to managing things yourself. Sometimes, though, having someone outside your everyday life to talk things through with can create the space to understand what's really going on.
Counselling is not about giving you a set of answers. It is about having somewhere you can slow down, be honest and explore what matters to you.
I'm Elin, a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and Coach based in North London. My approach is warm, thoughtful and collaborative. I don' believe you need to arrive at counselling with everything worked out — we can start wherever you are.
Together, we might explore your relationships, emotions, experiences, patterns of thinking and relating, or changes happening in your life.
I draw on several therapeutic approaches, including person-centred therapy, attachment theory, psychodynamic ideas, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and CBT. The approach is always adapted to you, rather than trying to fit you into a particular model.
I offer face-to-face counselling from a therapy room close to Highbury & Islington station, making it easy to reach from Highbury, Islington, Canonbury, Finsbury Park, Holloway and surrounding areas. Sessions are also available online if that is more convenient, wherever you are based in London.

You do not need a diagnosis or a particular reason to come to counselling. People come to therapy for many different reasons, including:
Sometimes the starting point is simply: "I don't really know what's wrong. I just know I don't feel like myself." That is enough.
I'm Swedish and have lived in different countries before making London home. I know what it can feel like to navigate different cultures, expectations and ideas about who you're supposed to be.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in business development and change management in the creative industries. I also trained as a coach. These experiences have shaped how I work today: with curiosity about the whole person, and with an appreciation for both reflection and change.
If you are wondering if counselling might be right for you, we can start with a free 15-minute introductory call. There's no expectation to commit to therapy. It is simply an opportunity to meet, ask questions and see how it feels to talk together.
