Swedish Therapist in London

Swedish-speaking counselling for people living in London and beyond.

Perhaps you grew up in Sweden but now live somewhere else. Perhaps you have been away for years — but Swedish family expectations, relationships, culture and ways of thinking still feel very present. Or perhaps you simply feel that some things are easier to express in Swedish.

I am Elin, a Swedish-speaking Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and Coach based in North London. I offer counselling in Swedish, English or a mixture of both, depending on what feels most natural to you.

Living between worlds can be complicated

Moving country can be exciting. It can also change your sense of who you are.

You may find yourself adapting constantly — switching languages, adjusting how you communicate, navigating different cultural expectations or feeling caught between where you have come from and where you are now.

Sometimes these experiences show up in relationships, family dynamics, identity or belonging. And sometimes it is difficult to explain exactly why.

Counselling can offer a space where you do not have to translate quite so much.

You can speak Swedish. Or English. Or both.

I grew up in Sweden and have lived in different countries before settling in London. I speak Swedish and English fluently, and I am comfortable moving between languages during a conversation.

What might bring you to therapy?

You do not need to have a clear explanation before beginning.

Counselling with me

My approach is warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental. I work integratively, drawing from person-centred therapy, attachment theory, psychodynamic approaches, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and CBT.

Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable enough to be honest. We can slow things down, explore what is happening beneath the surface and gradually make sense of experiences that may have felt difficult to put into words.
